1. Create an account
- Avantis now runs as Veranta, on the Base network. Go to veranta.xyz/trade and log in through Privy with email, SMS, Google or X, or with an EVM wallet such as Rabby, MetaMask, Phantom or Zerion; a social login creates a wallet for you automatically. source ↗
- Veranta's docs say there is no KYC to trade and no documents to submit: you log in, deposit and trade. source ↗
- The terms of service exclude US persons and anyone subject to OFAC or other sanctions, and require you to be at least 18. source ↗
2. Deposit collateral
- Trading collateral is USDC on Base only. Other stablecoins can be converted to USDC in the app. source ↗
- Deposits go through Fun.xyz: Deposit, then Card (Visa/Mastercard), Exchange (Coinbase today) or Wallet. With Wallet you get a deposit address and QR code; crypto from supported networks is converted to USDC on Base. source ↗
- Card providers may ask for KYC and may charge fees, which are shown before you confirm; Veranta adds no on-ramp fee. Deposit problems, KYC issues and card declines are handled by Fun.xyz support, not Veranta. source ↗
3. Open your first position
- Pick a market (crypto, forex, commodities, indices or equities), choose Long or Short, and choose Market, Limit or TWAP. Size the trade by collateral and leverage, or by the exact amount of the asset you want. source ↗
- Check the execution price, spread, fees and liquidation price shown before you confirm, then place the order. You can attach a take profit and stop loss before opening or add them later. source ↗
- Trading is gasless: you sign each action and Veranta pays the gas. Social logins are gasless by default; with an EVM wallet, turn on Smart Wallet at login, otherwise you pay gas yourself. source ↗
- Crypto majors cost 0.045% taker and 0.01% maker on both open and close, where "maker" means your trade improves the long/short balance. Forex, commodities, indices and equities have zero commission while in growth mode, but spread and funding still apply. source ↗
4. Know how liquidation works
- There is no order book: you fill at an oracle price plus a spread that grows with order size and is capped per market. Large orders pay more spread, which is what TWAP is for. source ↗
- Every position is isolated: the collateral you post backs only that position and is the most you can lose. A position is liquidated when its collateral health ratio falls to 85% or lower; adding collateral moves the liquidation price away. source ↗
- Stop losses can be set down to about an 80% loss of collateral; around -85% liquidation takes over. Profit on a single position is capped at 2500% of collateral on most markets. source ↗
5. Withdraw
- There is no withdrawal queue: your USDC stays in your own wallet and only leaves it when a trade opens. source ↗
- When you close a position in profit you are paid from the USDC vault; when you close at a loss you get back the remaining collateral. source ↗
- If you deposited through a Fun.xyz wallet, you can export its private key and use the wallet anywhere. source ↗
6. Common mistakes
- Stocks, FX and other real-world markets follow real trading hours. Prices can gap at reopen, so a stop loss or take profit can fill at a worse price than you set, and you can be liquidated at reopen. source ↗
- Each market caps open interest for longs and shorts. When one side is full, new positions on that side wait until room frees up, and leverage limits can be cut around major events. source ↗
- Upside Perps are separate pairs (for example BTC Upside next to BTC): no fee to open or close, but the protocol takes a share of profit on winning trades. They are market-order only. source ↗
- Veranta cannot recover funds sent to a wrong deposit address; only Fun.xyz can help with deposit issues. source ↗
Before you trade
Perpetual futures use leverage: a small price move against you can liquidate your collateral. Start with a small amount and low leverage, and read the venue’s current fee and margin pages, which can change after this guide was checked.
