One current venue, several historical product labels
ApeX's official site links to Omni perpetual markets, and the Omni API documentation identifies a mainnet REST base with public symbol and ticker endpoints. That supports treating Omni as an active perpetual product. It does not make every historical ApeX figure an Omni-perps figure. ApeX announced a phased sunset of its earlier Pro venue in February 2025; its article archive later listed a November 2025 notice for claiming funds after the Pro client went offline. Pro history and Omni history must remain separate series rather than additive live venues.
Omni Spot also has a clear end date. ApeX announced a 5 August 2026 shutdown, then reported on 10 August that Spot trading and entry points had closed while perpetuals continued. The current API reference retains some Spot terminology; that older interface wording cannot override the dated closure report. Other current products, including prediction markets, are not perp volume merely because they share the Omni brand.

TradFi perps need their own market scope
ApeX said in June 2026 that it renamed its RWA Perp product to TradFi without changing the trading mechanics. The Omni API still calls the separate account context RWA. These are old and new labels for a product line, not evidence of two distinct trading venues. A crypto-perps-only total may exclude TradFi contracts, while an Omni-wide total may include them; neither inclusion rule follows from the brand name alone.
The public API documents per-symbol configuration and ticker fields including openInterest, turnover24h and volume24h. It does not provide enough unit and reconciliation detail to turn a sum of current tickers into a verified venue-wide dollar figure. A historical series also needs the instruments that existed on each date, UTC boundaries, quote conversion and treatment of delisted symbols. Current symbol inventory cannot prove the past cohort.

Provider fee allocation is not an executed buyback ledger
DefiLlama's ApeX Omni row points to the Omni product, which helps identify its scope. Its public fee adapter fetches a feeOfDate field from Omni, assigns half to a modeled APEX buyback-revenue series and half to modeled vault yield, and reuses the buyback series as holders revenue. The on-chain buyback tracker in that adapter is commented out. These are provider classifications from one fee input, not three independent cash flows or transaction-level proof of token purchases and vault payments.
ApeX announced a revenue-linked buyback program in September 2025 and later reported completed open-market purchases with transaction links. We distinguish an announced rule, a project report and independently reconciled execution. This review has not matched all transaction hashes, funding periods, lock-address balances or vault distributions to the adapter's daily fee series, so no executed total or program gap is published here.

APEX supply terms and holder rights are different questions
The APEX white paper states an effective total supply of 500 million tokens after a historical supply reduction. It allocates 23%, or 115 million, to team and early investors under a 24-month cliff followed by 24-month vesting. The remaining 77%, or 385 million, covers rewards, ecosystem and liquidity purposes; its description says that portion was generally unlocked at token generation except DAO allocations subject to a 36-month lock. These are published allocation terms, not a measurement of circulating supply, transfers or current selling pressure.
The same white paper says holding APEX grants no financial rights, voting rights or contractual claims. It describes participation and reward functions, while ApeX separately advertises staking. Neither a reward program nor a modeled provider buyback field should be translated into a legal claim on all Omni perp revenue. The white paper also contains an inconsistent percentage for one suballocation; we do not reuse that figure without clarification.

What would permit a comparable ranking entry
First, archive daily Omni instrument inventories and exact market responses, including the TradFi context and delistings. Then establish units and day boundaries for each API field and reconcile the same product and period against the chosen provider. Volume, open interest, fees and market share should be compared only across a consistent cohort; a rolling 24-hour ticker sample is not a complete UTC-day history.
For token economics, version the official buyback terms and compare each covered period with transaction evidence, destination addresses and any lock or distribution records. Record missing addresses and unknown circulation as unknown rather than zero. ApeX Omni is therefore a verified coverage candidate, not yet a promoted 30- or 90-day ranking figure or an APEX valuation.

What we monitor next
- Archive the daily Omni and TradFi symbol cohorts, quote units and UTC boundaries before making 30/90-day claims.
- Reconcile buyback reports to transaction hashes and destination balances on matched periods.
- Keep APEX allocation and vesting terms distinct from circulating supply and observed transfers.
Frequently asked questions
Is ApeX Omni an active perp venue?
Its official site and current mainnet API document Omni perpetual markets. Legacy Pro history, closed Spot and non-perp products should not be counted as additional current Omni perp activity.
Are RWA Perp and TradFi separate venues?
No. ApeX says it renamed RWA Perp to TradFi in June 2026 without changing the mechanics; the API still uses older RWA account terminology.
Does DefiLlama's APEX holders-revenue figure prove token purchases?
No. Its public adapter models 50% of a daily fee input as buybacks, while its on-chain tracker is commented out. Executed purchases require separate transaction reconciliation.
