What the data shows
32 perp DEXs reported $29.50B of trading volume over the 24 hours to 09 Oct 2026 · 00:25 UTC (CoinGecko, rolling 24 hours). Hyperliquid led with $12.66B (42.9%), followed by Lighter and Variational.
Volume is the most quoted perp DEX metric and the easiest to inflate: points campaigns, fee rebates and self-trading all raise it. That is why our main ranking uses open interest. Some venues rank very differently by volume than by open interest — for example Pacifica, Arcus, Nado and GRVT — which is worth a closer look. We hide reported volume for 2 venue(s) where it is wildly out of line with open interest or with the fees the venue collects.
Daily volume history on our side started on 8 October 2026; a 30-day volume trend appears once a month of captures exists.

Common questions
Which perp DEX has the highest trading volume?
Hyperliquid, with $12.66B over the 24 hours to 09 Oct 2026 · 00:25 UTC, according to CoinGecko.
Is trading volume a good way to rank perp DEXs?
It is useful but easy to inflate with incentives. Open interest (positions actually held) and fees are harder to fake, so compare all three.

Open interest and fees: DefiLlama, captured 09 Oct 2026 · 00:25 UTC. 24h volume: CoinGecko derivatives exchange data (rolling 24 hours, converted from BTC), captured 09 Oct 2026 · 00:25 UTC. Token prices and 30-day price change: CoinGecko, at the time shown on each venue page; a parent-project or chain token is labelled and is not evidence of a claim on exchange revenue. Changes compare the last 30 days with the previous 30 days (OI as a daily average, fees as a total) and need at least 95% daily coverage. A trend label needs the 30-day move to pass a threshold (OI ±25%, fees ±30%) on a minimum base (OI ≥ $5M, fees ≥ $100K per 30 days); with 90 days of history both horizons must agree. Venue-reported volume is not audited; ⚑ marks volume above 25× open interest. “—” means unavailable, never zero. Full method ↗
